As I type this post for our blog, I have 3 children in our home..... Though I'm not expert, I've researched life insurance with the arrival of each new child in the past 5 years and have a pretty good set of thoughts on life insurance. I like bullet point style communication so where we go:
1.) Life Insurance is an unselfish act. Get over it! You will not receive the death benefit from your own policy. A selfless act is often the hardest to do.
2.) Term insurance is affordable for a reason. The company believes you'll outlive the policy or they'll loose money. However, it's a great option to simply protect your family during their most vital time of need.
3.) Permanent and UL products make the most sense if you have the disposable income to purchase. Generations can enjoy financial benefits from these products if structured properly.
4.) Permanent and UL products get a bad rep for no real reason.
5.) Most people wait too long to buy life insurance because they don't look far enough ahead in their life cycle. It's cheaper today than tomorrow for sure.
6.) The term agents that advertise on TV don't have anything your local independent insurance agent doesn't already have. Remember to go with an independent agent that's not tied to one company. Most direct
agents have poor products when it comes to life insurance.
Over and Out.
